I had intended to use MayEbony's technique shown here: Butterfly Wings by MayEbony

I used polish for the gradient, and then was using acrylic for the black lines, so I could wash them off if they didn't come out well. I had practiced on a practice wheel quite a few times and thought I had the technique down. Turns out.. no. Of course I had been using a striping polish to practice, and I found the acrylic with a striping brush acted totally different.  I couldn't get nice, even, smooth lines to save my life. So I washed it all off and added stickers and rhinestones. I'll have to practice more before I can mimic MayEbony.

That's really pretty!  And I know all about doing nail art based on something and turning out with something completely different :iconhardlaughplz:  I used to do nail art years ago when nobody had thought to use acrylic paint and it was so limiting with the thick polishes, and thick brushes.  Then I had a long break, and came back to find so much had changed and so many more options!
Thank you so much for featuring my photo and for your very kind words Kelly, you're so kind :iconpenguinsnuggleplz:  Oh and PS - your nail shape looks fine by me.  Traditional almond.  All good   For myself, I would never wear stiletto, but as you said, there are some really beautiful ones and very talented artisans.
